Shipping your rug to us for cleaning won't cost you anything

Shipping your rug to us for cleaning won't cost you anything

Shipping your rug to us for cleaning
Have you wanted to have your fine handmade rug cleaned for a while but you don’t live close to a professional rug cleaning company?
We have now come up with a solution for that problem.  Whether you have
a nice handmade oriental wool rug or a synthetic machine made rug you
can now ship your rug to us and we will clean it for you and ship it
back to you when we are done.  The best part is we pay all the shipping
cost, not you.
So how does the rug shipping program work?
1. Send an email
to prodrying@yahoo.com with the size of the rug and a photo of the front
and back of the rug.  If you know whether or not the rug is wool, silk,
nylon, polyester, etc that would also be helpful.  Then we will send
you back a price based on the information you provide.  (Please know
that we will measure the rug, when we receive it, to the nearest inch
and we will confirm the price based on our measurement.)
2. If you are
agreeable with the price then we will ship you a packet containing some
shipping instructions, a rug shipping bag, and a rug cleaning release
form that you will need to send back with the rug before we can clean
it.
3.  We will give
you a couple of days to package the rug up (including the cleaning
release form) and then we will send FedEx to your location and pick up
the rug.
4. Once we receive
the rug from FedEx we will then call you and go over any cleaning
related issues we see.  We will also photograph any issues with the rug
and share them with you via email.
5. Once the rug
has gone through our 7 step rug cleaning process then we will call you
and get payment before shipping the rug back to you via FedEx.  We will
need to have your rug about a week plus the shipping time both ways.
6.  At anytime
during the cleaning process you can check in on the progress of your rug
with our live rug cleaning webcam that streams on the homepage of our
website when we are cleaning rugs.  So you can track the progress of
your rug as it goes through the cleaning process.
It really is that
easy.  You ship the rug to us and we will clean it and ship it back to
you.  So now no matter where you live in the country you can have your
rug professionally cleaned by rug cleaning experts.

removing indentions from furniture in carpet

removing indentions from furniture in carpet

Ever wonder why you go to rearrange the furniture in a room but the indention in the carpet won't come out where the furniture used to sit?  There could be a simple explanation for this and it probably is the last thing you would have thought of.

I was inspired to write this article this week after having a carpet cleaning customer that was convinced this was a cleaning issue, which it is not.  After I explained it to the customer though they understood but it made me wonder how many other people don't understand what kind of carpet they are purchasing and how fiber content does make a difference.

Head To Head On Carpet Care | Cleaning & Maintenance Management Online

Ken Snow and I went head to head in an article about commercial carpet cleaning and the best way to get it done.  I have known Ken for many years and have even been to his facility in Michigan.  So just to be clear I don't know that there is a right or wrong answer to this because truthfully both Ken and I do what is best for the customer.

The Family Pet

Many times in families today the family pet is actually treated as a child.  They sleep on the bed with people, they give us lots of enjoyment, and usually require a whole lot less supervision than our kids.  However, cleaning up after pets can be a full-time job and is for most carpet, upholstery, and rug cleaners in the U.S.

The fact is that pets produce a lot of work for carpet cleaning companies and the one way to prevent that is to leave the pets outside.  However, we both know that is not going to happen, especially when you look at that face on the right.

Update on the Frito bag

Pearson Carpet Care 525 N Houston Ave Humble, TX 77338 281-548-7200
The story that ran in R&R magazine showing the Frito bag we found on a water restoration job is now framed along with the Frito bag itself.  This is now hanging in our rug cleaning plant located inside our World Headquarters for all our customers to see and read when they are dropping off or picking up rugs for cleaning.

So next time you are in the shop look for it among the other oddly interesting things we have.

Removing White Wine From Carpet

removing white wine from carpet is a lot easier than red wine www.pearsoncarpetcare.comAs a carpet cleaner since 1992 I am always being asked about different spots people get on their carpet and how they can remove them on their on.  Sometimes these questions can be easily answered and sometimes the answers can be a bit more complex.  It all depends on the type of spot, length of time it has been in the carpet and what has already been done to remove the spot.  I have been asked about removing everything from apricot sauce to zebra blood, except for one thing.  No one ever asks how to remove white wine.  I get asked about red wine often but never once about white wine.

Just once I would love to get asked this easy question.  Since removing white wine is as easy flushing it with water.  However maybe it has something to do with the fact that red wine drinkers are clumsier, maybe white wine drinkers just don't spill that much, not sure.

Drying a wood floor

We have been drying a lot of wood floor lately.  This is a specialized area of drying that not just anyone can do.  There is special equipment needed and a lot of knowledge about the different types of wood and wood floors if you are to be successful.  Besides needing to know whether or not you are dealing with laminate, engineered wood, or solid wood planks you need to also know how the floor is installed.  Is it glued down to the subfloor, a floating floor, or is it up on screeds.  All this information together will tell you whether or not the floor is worth drying and how you should go about drying it.

www.pearsoncarpetcare.com wins another award

At Pearson Carpet Care we have won another award.  Well at least honorable mention.  About a year ago we found a frito bag inside a wall on a water damage job.  This frito bag is from the early 1950's which makes it unique.  This was long before they merged with the Lay's corporation.  So we entered this into a contest for R & R magazine.  (Restoration and Remediation)  To our surprise we won honorable mention in the contest.  The winner came a company in Augusta, ME that found a sword on a water restoration job.  Here's the article to read more.

Containment: It can help you be a better restorer.

Improving how well you do your job can sometimes be difficult. However, in this case it is pretty simple.  Look for areas on water restoration jobs where you can cut out and some air space and dry a smaller area, then set up some containment to accomplish this.  Eliminating several rooms of air in unaffected areas can really help dry structures faster and more thoroughly with less damage.  Admittedly in today's newer houses with open floor plans this can be a challenge most of the time.  Sometimes you could spend more time and money setting up containment then it is worth.  So be smart about it and use it as often as possible.  This one simple little tool will make you a better restorer.
